Law enforcement have made public alarming footage illustrating a driver performing hazardous drifting maneuvers around a traffic circle during an unauthorized car meet, putting spectators at grave danger of harm.

A 23-year-old from the local area was given a jail term of 27 weeks, deferred for 12 months, after admitting to dangerous driving.

Additionally, the court imposed a 12-month driving ban and mandated unpaid work along with a rehabilitation program.

As stated by police officials, the video was captured at an unauthorized car meet in Portsmouth on 28 December 2024, featuring the individual driving a pink BMW.

“The video demonstrates the shocking moment when a reckless driver drifted around a roundabout at an unauthorized vehicle event, while spectators looked on despite the risk of serious injury.”

Official Statement

A police sergeant remarked: “Local people, drivers and our traffic officers have had enough with these groups of drivers thoughtlessly occupying streets and parking areas and we will not tolerate it.”

He added: “They are not only a complete nuisance, but they also put participants and innocent bystanders at danger of severe harm.”

The statement concluded: “Our efforts will persist to take legal action against these drivers and I hope these latest incidents act as a caution: you won’t get away with it.”
