The January recruitment period is typically a time of feverish rumour and potential major transfers. Several notable stars are being connected to transfers away from their current clubs. This article explores some of the major names who are poised to be changing clubs in January.

A. Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, this has kept the player available, reports suggest an important move is imminent. This 25-year-old has a deal with a £65 million release clause active for a brief window at the start of the month. This England centre-back has excel for Crystal Palace this season a previous transfer to Liverpool falling through. The Portuguese playmaker might be set for a comeback to the English top flight following a period in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, there are rumours from Spanish media that he is willing to accept a pay cut for a switch to the Spanish giants.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This veteran German shot-stopper finds himself as the third option at Barcelona under new manager Hansi Flick. After lost his place and undergone an operation, a winter departure seems highly likely.
